Hangingstone Pedestrian Bridge, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Multiple Award-winning the Hangingstone Pedestrian Bridge employs two 42 meters-long yellow cedar glulam girders. It forms a single span shallow curve with the main load-carrying members doubling as high parapets. A salient design feature includes multiple openings in the girders to break up the solid face of the members for visual interest and to allow pedestrians to view the river.
This bridge incorporates unique LED lighting solutions.
